Interior of the car

The interior of the car stayed pretty standard, as I had budgeted heavily on the bodywork at the start. Unfortunately the progress was slow...but I managed to buy an old 1.3 SR for parts, costing only £200.

The first stage was the transfer of the dash from the SR, that was pretty easy. Running a wire from the coil into the back of the dash was the trickiest bit

I had investigated various methods for re-trimming the interior, all of which were going to cost a fortune, but a little company in Campsie, Northern Ireland came to the rescue.

They did custom seat covers, so basically I stripped out the seats from the car, left them at the factory for a week, and the guys created a custom fit set of covers for them.
I decided to choose black and blue to complement the white, and also I love that electric blue colour.

The bill came to £85, and the job was as good as a full custom seat retrim!

I also bought some extra material as I intended to make some custom door pods for speakers, but that was consigned to the failed door pods page
Due to lack of time, and the purchace of an Astra GTE this project was abandoned, and I just stuck some of the material onto the existing door cards, which ended up looking pretty cool anyway!

The only thing it really needed was all the grey plastic on the interior painted black - that was the next stage if I had been keeping the car

I had electric windows in the car, but the switches were in the door pods, so when I was selling the car I removed them
