The brickies have arrived back on site, and have started work on the garage. They will complete that work before starting on the main house.
After only one days work they have reached 9'6" - the full height of the garage subfloor. There will be quite a bit of filling to go in at the back! [more]
After only 2 days the brickwork is complete, and its now possible to see just how much fill we need at the back. [more]
The brickwork has started, and the weather has changed. Over the weekend we saw gale force winds, and persistant rain. Hopefully this is not the pattern for the winter... See the pics [here]
The work continues, a lot of sills and other precast concrete has been delivered - some of the sills are in place, and hopefully it will not take long to get up to first floor level. [more]
The brickies were back today, they got the lintils on at the sides, and back, and are up to ceiling height at the back. They are ready for the lintils at the front, so hopefully another day will take care of that. [more]
The poles and transformer arrived today for the NIE installation, and hopefully they will be here tomorrow or Wednesday to start the work [more]
NIE arrived today to put up the 2 poles, and replace a third with a heavier one. They got the one nearest the house in without any problems, but for the other two they hit rock. They also hit rock attempting to put in the stays for the first pole. Unfortunately this means they need a rock-hammer, which is unavailable for about two weeks. [more]
The cabling installed last night was covered in today, and a fresh layer of clean stones arrived. This greatly tidyed the look of the site. The internal walls are a little higher, tomorrow should finish them, and the metalwork for the conservatory has arrived. [brickwork]
The conservatory metalwork is now in place with three rows of blocks built on it. Other internal wall work has also been completed [more]
